About Us

The Egyptian Committee for Pathology Training (ECPT), currently based at the National Cancer Institute of Cairo University, was established in order to support and enhance capacity in training, assessment, and educational supervision in pathology. ECPT is a national committee comprising representatives from some of Egypt’s major medical schools and training institutions.

The ECPT is working in partnership with the Royal College of Pathologists, United Kingdom, to develop Egypt’s training programs, qualifications, standards, and practices in pathology and laboratory medicine specialties. The Committee’s initial work focused on histopathology and is progressively expanding its program to include other disciplines of laboratory medicine.
